Age-Specific Learning

During the pivotal stages of development in Years 5-8, we wholeheartedly understand the significant physical, social, cognitive and emotional changes experienced by students. Our priority is to nurture their transition into early adolescence, fostering their sense of wellbeing and self-awareness, and building confidence rooted in their inherent value as children created by God.

The Whole Child

Middle School embraces a holistic approach to education, nurturing the wellbeing of the whole child. The seamless integration of Christian values into the student’s learning journey helps consolidate their identity, cultivating character, development, empathy, and a sense of purpose. Students gain a firm foundation in life.

We encourage students to embrace extracurricular activities to enhance their growth outside the classroom.

Serving Our Community

Using our SERVE model, we encourage students to use their God-given gifts to serve our school community, local community, and our Nation and world through mission opportunities.

Serving others helps our students to become responsible global citizens, developing leadership, courage and empathy.

A Seamless Transition

Middle School has become a proven educational model, replacing conventional educational systems where students transition from one regular teacher to multiple teachers in Senior School. This type of change can be overwhelming during a season of personal changes. Middle School provides a seamless transition, helping students navigate a multitude of changes, resulting in uninterrupted learning and growth while they remain connected.

Ready For Senior School

Students are well prepared to transition to Senior School by the end of Year 8.

Middle School teaching and learning is a tailored curriculum providing customised subjects that align with NESA key learning areas.

Christian Education in Community

Middle School students are connected into a nurturing Christian education community where learning is shaped by a Biblical worldview. Our committed teachers understand that each child has unique gifts. They help your child develop their abilities, learning to serve the community. We understand the significance of spiritual growth and provide Pastoral Care classes that students attend daily.

CURRICULUM

In our Middle School program, students explore diverse interests. Students gradually integrate with specialised teachers while continuing to receive teaching in core subjects from their Pastoral Care teacher. Year 5-6 participate in the Music Band Program and engage in Visual Arts, HSIE and PE. In Years 7-8, they delve into a broader range of subjects: Food Technology, Industrial Technology, French, and Geography. This fosters a passion for specific learning before transitioning to Senior School.

TECHNOLOGY

Year 5-6 students use 1:1 devices for safe and progressive learning. Blended learning with CANVAS enhances independent learning, critical thinking, technological literacy, and future readiness.
Year 7-12 students take ownership of our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) strategy, enhancing independent learning and student collaboration, with seamless integration between in-school and at-home learning on a daily basis.

WELLBEING SUPPORT

Collaboration with students, teachers, and families helps students face their challenges and unlock their full potential. Our caring Pastoral Care teachers, school counsellor, and chaplain help foster a safe and supportive environment by nurturing the whole person. The Micro-credentials program also helps students develop a profound understanding of themselves, the world and their place within it.

SCHOOL CAMPS

Annual Middle School camps for each grade provide opportunities for students to develop friendships, foster personal growth, build resilience and personal development beyond the classroom. By stepping out of their comfort zones, students create bonds and experience a boost in confidence.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

- JEREMIAH 29:11
